Forget Ola, Uber, Rapido! The state government will directly start a special service!

Mumbai: App-based passenger transport services have now become an integral part of city life. The daily response to the vehicles of private companies like Ola, Uber, Rapido is a prime example of this. But, these companies had gone on strike a few days ago, robbing passengers. Also, the behavior of drivers in these companies, safety during travel are often discussed. The state government has found a solution to all these. The state government is considering starting an app-based passenger transport service. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has given this important information.
What will the app be like?
App-based rickshaw, taxi and e-bike services for passenger transport will now not be limited to private companies, but will be started in collaboration with the transport department. Sarnaik explained that Marathi youth will get a great opportunity for employment through this.
It is proposed to name this app as Jai Maharashtra, 'Maha-Ride', 'Maha-Yatri' or 'Maha-Go'. He expressed confidence that this government app will be operational soon with the final approval of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and both Deputy Chief Ministers (Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar).
Discussions have been started with private companies including 'Maharashtra Institute for Transport Technology' and 'Mitra' to develop the app under this initiative. It includes all the necessary elements to maintain transparency in the system and the app will be ready soon, said Sarnaik.
Help for vehicle purchase!
Through this, special financial support will be provided to Marathi youth. To provide employment to unemployed youth, a loan will be given at an interest rate of 10 percent through Mumbai Bank for vehicle purchase. This was assured by Mumbai Bank Chairman Praveen Darekar. He said that with the help of Mumbai Bank, financial assistance will be available to unemployed youth.
Annasaheb Economic Development Corporation, Bhatke Vimukta Corporation, OBC Corporation and MSDC will provide 11 percent interest refund in the form of subsidy. Therefore, this loan is like interest-free, explained Sarnaik.
The regulations of this app are in the final stage as per the central government's aggregator guidelines. Currently, private organizations are earning huge profits through unauthorized apps. For this, those companies are looting drivers and passengers. Since the government has ample machinery, technology and manpower, if the government develops such an app, it will benefit not only passengers but also drivers.
In this regard, a meeting of the concerned has been organized in the Ministry on August 5. MLA Praveen Darekar, a technician of the app creation, and government officials will be present at this meeting, so this government app will be given its final form in this meeting. This information was given by Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik.
