
Government Residential School in Kamthi Taluka Honored with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Social Justice Excellence Award
Nagpur, Dec. 13: The Government Residential School for Scheduled Caste and Neo-Buddhist children of Waregaon in Kamthi Taluka, under the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, was recently honored with the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Social Justice Excellence Award. The award was distributed at Yashwantrao Chavan Auditorium, Mumbai in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Social Justice Minister Sanjay Shirsat, Minister of State Smt. Madhuri Misal, Principal Secretary Harshdeep Kamble, Social Welfare Commissioner Pravin Puri. The award was accepted by Regional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Siddharth Gaikwad, Assistant Commissioner Sukeshini Telgote, Principal Vilas Gaikwad and Shubhangi Khapekar.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, many facilities were provided in this school. Along with this, District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar visited the school and guided from time to time. The facilities available in this school include astronomy, mathematics, language, robotics, virtual, music, computer and science laboratories, e-library, science park, adventure park, open gym, spacious playground etc. The school has a grand and spacious building and provides free textbooks, educational materials, uniforms, tracksuits, accommodation with all facilities, balanced diet, modular kitchen, sterile drinking water system, chiller water purifier (RO), geyser, talking walls, etc., which is ensuring the all-round development of the students. This is known as the first school in the state with a science and adventure park.
For the overall development of the students, along with studies, discipline, cleanliness, healthy habits and cultural programs are very well planned and implemented. 200 students are enrolled here. For the last 5 years, the school's S.S.C. Board results are 100% and students are getting places in the merit list. With the collective cooperation of all the teachers and non-teaching staff who are struggling day and night for the success of the school, this residential school is gradually scaling new peaks of success.
