Injured Umesh Yadav set to miss third Test against Australia, Nagpur pacer may be replaced by Natarajan

Nagpur’s Umesh Yadav limped out of the field on the third day of the second Test which India won by eight wickets against Australia to level the four-match series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Tuesday.
Despite the memorable victory, a major concern for Team India on the tour is their injury issues. Pacers especially have been sustaining injury since the first Test match at Adelaide. Firstly, Mohammad Shami got ruled out, and now 33-year-old Yadav is out due to injury.
“Umesh Yadav complained of pain in his calf while bowling his 4th over and was assessed by the BCCI medical team. He is being taken for scans now,” said BCCI media in a statement.
‘Vidarbha Express’ Yadav walked off the field after suffering an injury on Monday. He has been sent for scans, and nothing is yet sure about him. He was in the middle of a brilliant spell where he experienced severe cramps in his left leg and asked for immediate medical help. He then limped back to the dressing room with the help of support staff. Yorker specialist T Natarajan can be looked at as a cover for Yadav, and Navdeep Saini is also in the line to be taken for consideration.
India’s recent white-ball series hero Natarajan is in line to mark his Test debut with India at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The third Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy will begin on January 7. The left-arm pacer may be roped in as a cover for injured Yadav.
“With limited options available, the team management can ask for Natarajan to be added to the squad,” said a BCCI source.e memorable victory, a major concern for Team India on the tour is their injury issues.
