Kalyan Businessman Kidnapped for ?50 Lakh; Plot Hatched by Acquaintances; 5 Arrested Including Real Estate Agent
KDMC (Kalyan): A shocking incident has come to light where prominent Kalyan businessman Jayram Nehalani was kidnapped for a ransom of ?50 lakh. Acting swiftly within hours, the Ulhasnagar police arrested five individuals, including the mastermind—a real estate agent.
According to reports, Jayram Nehalani was abducted a few days ago from the Gol Maidan area of ??Ulhasnagar by a group of youths. The kidnappers subsequently demanded a ransom of ?50 lakh from his family. Under pressure, Nehalani's relatives handed over the money to a specific individual as agreed. After collecting the cash, the person casually said, "Thank you, Uncle," and left, assuring them that Nehalani would return home soon. This left the family terrified.
Taking serious note of the incident, Ulhasnagar Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sachin Gore formed ten special teams. Based on CCTV footage and technical analysis, the police conducted a raid in the Khadavli area and rescued Jayram Nehalani from the clutches of the accused.
So far, five individuals—Sachin Shirsat, Anil Jagtap, Vishal Chandramore, Ramesh Jadhav, and Rahul Soni—have been arrested in connection with the case. Two other accused, Satish Donde and Mayur Darane, remain at large. Police investigations revealed that the mastermind, Sachin Shirsat, is a well-known real estate agent from Kalyan who was acquainted with Nehalani. He orchestrated the kidnapping precisely because he was aware of Nehalani's financial dealings.
