New Delhi, Date 25: Police medals were announced today, a total of 48 police officers from Maharashtra have been awarded this award. Four of these police officers have been awarded the ‘President’s Distinguished Service Medal’ for excellent service, while 44 police officers and employees have been awarded the ‘Medal for Meritorious Service’ (MSM). Out of these, 39 police medals have been awarded for ‘Meritorious Service’ and five medals have been awarded for Meritorious Service (MSM) in the category of Correctional Services to police officers and police employees serving in prisons.
On the occasion of Republic Day, the Union Home Ministry announces ‘Police Medals’ every year for the valor of the police in the country. This year, a total of 942 ‘Police Medals’ have been announced and a total of 101 police officers across the country have been awarded the ‘President’s Distinguished Service Medal’ (PSM), 95 police officers have been awarded the ‘Police Gallantry Medal’ (PMG) and 746 police officers have been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM). Out of this, Maharashtra has received a total of 48 medals.
‘President’s Distinguished Service Medal’ has been announced for excellent service to police officers and employees of the country and this includes four officers and employees from Maharashtra. Their names are as follows.
