Mahatma Gandhi's grandson Arun Gandhi passed away at the age of 89 in Kolhapur

Kolhapur: Mahatma Gandhi's grandson and writer Arun Gandhi passed away today in Kolhapur. He breathed his last at the age of 89. His son Tushar Gandhi informed that his body will be cremated today in Kolhapur. Tushar Gandhi has left for Kolhapur.
Arun Gandhi was supposed to stay in Kolhapur for the last two months. Arun Gandhi is the son of Manilal Gandhi. He was born on 14 April 2934 in Durban. Following the example of his grandfather Mahatma Gandhi, he actively participated in social work. He was the father of senior intellectual Tushar Gandhi.
Arun Gandhi has also been a former Union Minister. Arun Gandhi worked to follow the thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi. He first met Mahatma Gandhi when he was five years old. He also stayed with Mahatma Gandhi in Wardhya's Sevagram Ashram during 1946. Being influenced by Mahatma Gandhi from his childhood, he also maintained his interest in social work throughout his life.
Among the books written by Arun Gandhi is 'The Gift of Anger: And Other Lessons from My Grandfather Mahatma Gandhi'. Arun Gandhi settled in America with his family in 1987. There he also established an organization related to non-violence in the university. Arun Gandhi was staying at the Hanbarwadi house of Anuradha Bhosale, president of Avni Sanstha in Kolhapur for the past two months.
