PCMC Election 2026: Raise your voice against maladministration in the municipal corporation, Ajit Pawar warns office-bearers
Pimpri: In the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections, sitting and former MLAs of the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar group) did not participate in the campaigning for the candidates. Some leaders stayed away from the elections, which is completely wrong. While praising the corporators elected for the first time, he congratulated the panel heads for the party's success in only three wards (numbers 9, 20, and 21) out of 32, where all four candidates of the party won. In these wards, the campaign was conducted unitedly, and voting took place panel by panel.
Pawar hinted that an aggressive face would be chosen for the Leader of the Opposition post. Sandeep Waghere, Bhausaheb Bhoir, Rahul Bhosale from Ward 20, and former Mayor Vaishali Ghodekar have expressed their interest in this position. A leader who speaks out against wrongdoings and is aggressive will be chosen for this post.
"There is dissatisfaction because some office-bearers did not campaign. Oppose the wrongdoings, raise your voice," Pawar said. City president Yogesh Bahal said that discussions regarding the selection of the group leader are underway and a decision will be made soon.
