Stabbing the farmers in the back...: Why did Jagdeep Dhankhar get angry at Surjewala during the discussion on the budget in Rajya Sabha?

New Delhi:The opposition created a ruckus during the discussion on the provisions made for farmers in Budget 2024 in Rajya Sabha on Friday. Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar got so angry at Congress MPs Randeep Surjewala and Shakti Singh Gohil that he directed them to leave the House. Dhankhar said, "Those who are not allowing the discussion on the issue of farmers. They are stabbing the farmer in the back. Such MPs are working to hang the farmers. Those who are obstructing the discussion should first look into their own self. Look at their 10 years of rule."

In fact, on Friday, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was answering questions on the allocation of budget for farmers. When Chauhan talked about giving the farmers a fair price for their produce, the opposition MPs created a ruckus. All the MPs, including Surjewala, talked about the guarantee of MSP. Surjewala even called the Modi government an anti-farmer government.
