Why was Kejriwal arrested before the elections?

-Supreme Court's question to ED, said - freedom is very important
-Sought answers to 5 questions by May 3
New Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal's petition against arrest and remand in the Delhi Liquor Policy case was heard in the Supreme Court on Tuesday. The bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta raised questions on the timing of Kejriwal's arrest.
The bench asked Enforcement Directorate (ED) lawyer ASG SV Raju - why was the Delhi Chief Minister arrested just before the Lok Sabha elections. Freedom is very important, you cannot deny it. The court kept the date of hearing on May 3 with answers to 5 questions.
Supreme Court asked 5 questions to ED
1. Can criminal proceedings be initiated in respect of what has been said in Vijay Madanlal Chaudhary or any other case without any judicial proceedings? (Justice Khanna said that no attachment has been done so far in Kejriwal's case. If it has been done, then the ED will have to tell how their connection was.)
2. There are two parts of the verdict in Manish Sisodia case - one, which is in his favor, the other, which is not in his favor. In which part does Kejriwal's case fall?
3. How to interpret Section 19 of PMLA, as Kejriwal is coming out against arrest and remand instead of applying for bail. If they adopt the latter route, will they face higher provisions under Section 45 of PMLA?
4. The time between the initiation of proceedings in the case and the filing of repeated complaints after some time. (In this regard it was pointed out that the difference would have serious consequences. Since Section 8 prescribes a maximum time limit of 365 days for the judicial process)
5. Timing of arrest. Why did this happen before the elections?
