Maharashtra: New cases of Covid-19 91 cases of variant flirtation

Mumbai Maharashtra has reported 91 cases of the new Covid-19 Omicron subvariant KP.2, which is more dominating than the already dominant JN.1 variant. According to the information, maximum 51 cases of KP.2 variant were registered in Pune, while Thane is at second place with 20 cases.
The KP.2 variant, identified in January, spread to many parts of Maharashtra by March and April. A slight increase in cases was seen in March. At that time, an average of 250 cases caused by the KP.2 variant were reported. Apart from Pune and Thane, seven cases have been reported in Amravati and Aurangabad. Apart from this, two cases of KP.2 and one case of KP.2 were reported in Ahmednagar, Nashik, Larur and Sangli. It is noteworthy that till now no case of this has been reported in Mumbai.

- Sore throat, runny nose, cough, body ache, fever, difficulty in breathing, in some cases loss of smell and taste in mouth, etc.

To protect against COVID-19, wear a mask in crowded places, maintain hand hygiene, maintain social distance, avoid crowded areas and poorly ventilated places, clean frequently touched surfaces. This includes cleaning, staying home when sick, following local guidelines, etc.
