24 x 7 water scheme now all over Nagpur -78 crore proposal

Nagpur 9- In order to ensure equal water supply in the city, 24 by 7 water supply scheme was started by Manpad. In the budget of Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Rs. 78 crore was proposed to implement it in the entire city.
The 24 by 7 scheme has been running since 2011-12. After 100 percent completion of this scheme, water will be supplied to the citizens 24 hours a day. Apart from this, leakage in the existing 650 MLD water supply can also be reduced. In this regard, it was proposed to replace 30% of the pipelines in the city. That work was done.
BPT at Gorewada For 2000 mm. Laying of 2 km diameter pipeline completed. Apart from this work to increase the capacity of Pench Phase 2 Water Treatment Plant, work of new GSR at Sitabardi Fort, repair work of Godbole Gate at Gorewada, replacement of 707 km pipeline, connection of 246960 out of 320211 pipes, 162 flows instead of 175 flow meters. Meter installation work, 19 ESR / GSR / MBR. Out of 18 repairs, 237 out of 337 butterfly wells have been completed.
The project has achieved 97.41 percent physical progress. At present, a total of 68 E.S.R. Out of Command Area, 28 by Command Area (excluding Slum) is supplied 24 by 7 water. In the rest of the command area, it was not possible to make the water supply scheme 24 by 7. An important step has been taken by the municipality to do that. Municipal Corporation has proposed Rs. 78 crore for 24 by 7 water supply in the entire city. The intention is to do this work through tender. Once the entire additional work is completed, the rest of the command area will be able to maintain a smooth water supply, officials said.
