544 women widowed by corona - Benefit of Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana
Nagpur dt. 17: 544 widows due to corona in the district have been given the benefit of Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana, informed District Women and Child Development Officer Arpana Kolhe today.
He informed District Collector R. Vimala at the meeting of District Action Force for Care and Protection of Children on the background of Kovid-19 disease. The number of children whose parents died due to covid was 1370, out of which 381 children received social screening reports. The District Collector instructed to visit the homes of the remaining children as soon as possible. The meeting was attended by Defense Officer Mushtaq Pathan, Child Protection Committee Chairman Raju Thorat, Women Economic Development Corporation Officer Pratibha Fate and other members.
Children whose parents have both died of corona. Letters should be given to the co-registrar's office not to sell their property to relatives or anyone else. Also, a letter should be given to the education department regarding the school fees of these children. The District Collector also said that the District Legal Services Authority should take immediate action to remove all the legal hurdles in providing benefits to the children who have lost both their parents. Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council Nilam Gorhe had recently convened a meeting on schemes for widows and destitute children due to corona.
