BJP's inevitable victory in the Mumbai mayoral election; Bawankule launches a strong attack on the Thackeray brothers
Mumbai: In the backdrop of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections, Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has directly targeted the Thackeray brothers. Bawankule expressed firm confidence that "no matter how many alliances are formed, a BJP mayor will be elected in Mumbai." He said that the development model under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis has received a tremendous response from Mumbaikars and called the opposition's alliance a 'farce'.
Even before the announcement of a possible alliance between Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray, Bawankule, while speaking to the media, made it clear that Mumbaikars are in favor of development. He criticized, "To make Mumbai an international-class city, Fadnavis has prepared a development plan for Mumbai until 2047. After 2014, the face of Mumbai has truly changed. The Thackeray brothers did not solve the city's problems while holding the mayoral post for 25 years."
Bawankule said, "Even if both brothers come together, the public will not trust them. The public only wants a vision for development, not theatrics. There is no dispute or rebellion within the Mahayuti (grand alliance). Our workers are disciplined." He also expressed confidence that Mumbaikars will give 51 percent of the votes to the Mahayuti.
Speaking about the unity within the Mahayuti, Bawankule said that the alliance is strengthening across Maharashtra. In this election, voters will make their decision based on the issue of development.
