Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Election 2026: 19 Washing Machines Seized in Rahatni for Luring Voters; Flying Squad Takes Swift Action

In the run-up to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation elections, an incident of distributing washing machines to voters in violation of the code of conduct has come to light. On Monday night, 19 washing machines were seized from a vehicle in Ganraj Colony, Rahatni area. This action was taken by a flying squad led by Election Officer Anil Pawar.
Various teams, including SST, FST, and VST, are operating under the code of conduct cell established under the guidance of Election Commissioner Shravan Hardikar. After receiving a complaint at 10:23 PM on Monday, the team led by team leader Rahul Nikam rushed to the spot and seized the 19 washing machines found in the vehicle. A complaint has been registered at the Kalewadi police station regarding this matter.
Strict action is being taken against such violations before the voting on January 15, and the teams are on high alert to curb attempts to influence voters.
