BJP suffers setback in Pune Municipal Corporation election: Pooja More withdraws nomination, emotionally reveals her anguish

Pune: The BJP has suffered a major setback in the Pune Municipal Corporation elections. Pooja Dhananjay More, the official candidate from Ward No. 2, has withdrawn her nomination. It is being claimed that this decision was forced upon her due to strong opposition from party workers and trolling on social media. After withdrawing her nomination, Pooja More became emotional and recounted the story of her struggles and her journey within the party.
Pooja More said, "I was born into a simple farming family. I came to Pune after marrying Dhananjay Jadhav. While fighting for farmers, I faced police batons, had criminal cases filed against me, and went through the complexities of the court system. It was a great fortune for me, a common party worker, to receive a nomination from a major party. I was going to fight to get justice for the people at the grassroots level. But a conspiracy was hatched by exaggerating a small mistake of mine. This is causing me immense pain."
She further said, "I am a fighter. My life for the past 10-15 years has been completely different. Growing up in a rural area, I fought the farmers' battle against factory owners. After coming to Pune, I truly understood Hindutva. My first reaction to the Pulwama attack was given in haste. Later, after meeting the victims, I realized that the attack was carried out in the name of religion. That's why I said that people were killed because they were Hindus. But that old video was made viral. A photo with Rahul Gandhi was also made viral. While working in a farmers' organization, I had visited the Bharat Jodo Yatra to present the demands of the farmers. I had spoken to ensure justice for cotton growers. I am a loyal worker of the BJP and will continue to fight for Hindutva."
Meanwhile, Pooja More's candidature had come under question due to internal party conflicts and controversial statements on social media. This incident has shaken the BJP's strategy in Ward 2. Since the deadline for withdrawing nominations has passed, the Election Commission's decision means the party will now have to search for a new candidate.
