The FIR of this case was registered in Dharashiv. And the responsibility of the investigation was entrusted to DySP Swapnil Rathod there. However, serious errors were made from the beginning of the investigation. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde took cognizance of the incident and removed Swapnil Rathod from the investigation. The investigation has been transferred from him to Kalamb Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjay Pawar.
The main accused Abhishek Kadam had appeared before the police on his own after 20 days. And he was also granted bail in just 7 days, which raised serious suspicions in the case.
