Bihar Assembly Election 2025: 31.38% voting till 11 am in second phase, 'Panchayat' artist also voted!
Patna, November 11, 2025 (Representative): The voting process for the second and final phase of Bihar Assembly elections began at 7 am today. A total of 1,302 candidates are in the fray for 122 seats in this phase, including 1,165 men, 136 women and one transgender candidate. About 3.7 crore voters are eligible to vote in this phase, which includes 1.95 crore men and 1.74 crore women voters. Voting is being held today for 122 seats in 20 districts including Gayaji, Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Arwal, Jehanabad, Nawada, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Supaul, Purnia, Araria, Katihar, Kishanganj, East Champaran and West Champaran. Till 11 am, 31.38 percent voting was recorded across the state, and an enthusiastic atmosphere is being seen among the voters. In this, actor Jitendra Kumar of the popular web series 'Panchayat' also exercised his right to vote, which further increased the enthusiasm among the common voters.
Although the voting process in this phase is going on peacefully, technical glitches in EVM machines and discussions of allegations and counter-accusations between political parties are being held in some places. Both the BJP-JDU alliance (NDA) and the grand alliance (RJD-Congress) are claiming victory, and the voters are focused on issues like development, employment, education and health. In the first phase, the voting rate of women was higher at 69.04 percent, while that of men was 61.56 percent. Political leaders have said that there is special interest among women in the second phase as well.
Time-wise review of voting
The voting process, which began at 7 am, did not initially see a rush of voters, but by 9 am, 14.55 percent voting was recorded across the state. In this, a low figure of 15.97 percent was recorded in Gaya district and 13.25 percent in Madhubani. A selfie point has been set up at polling station number 316 in Sadar block of Nawada district, and slogans of "Good government, good jobs" have been displayed there. District Collector Richi Pandey of Sitamarhi district personally stood in the queue of voters and observed the process. The Election Commission has given information that a total of 31.38 percent voting was recorded till 11 am. Looking at the district-wise statistics, the highest voter turnout was recorded in Kishanganj at 34.74 percent, while the lowest was recorded in Madhubani at 28.66 percent. The percentage in other districts is as follows: 31.88% in Araria, 31.07% in Arwal, 32.88% in Aurangabad, 32.91% in Banke, 29.08% in Bhagalpur, 34.07% in Gaya, 30.06% in Jehanabad, 33.69% in Jamui, 31.98% in Kaimur, 30.83% in Katihar, 29.02% in Nawada, 32.39% in West Champaran, 32.94% in Purnia, 31.16% in East Champaran, 29.80% in Rohtas, 31.58% in Sheohar and 29.81% in Sitamarhi. Poll observers say that this percentage is better than the first phase.
