By bus transporters Action for overcharging

Nagpur dt. 21: The Department of Transport has decided to curb the private passenger bus operators who collect double the fare from the passengers on the occasion of the festival. Regional Transport Officer Khanderao Deshmukh has warned to take action in case of extra fare.
ST bus is available for passengers by Regional Transport Corporation. While providing this service, private buses also run on the same route. But they do receive complaints of overcharging. In view of ST buses running on that route, the government has fixed in 2018 that the fare for private buses will not be more than 50 per cent of the fare per kilometer during the peak season. Accordingly, the rates for air-conditioned and air-conditioned buses have been fixed.
Private bus owners charge higher fares from passengers. If such a complaint is received and at the end of the investigation it is found to be true, the license holder will be penalized under the Motor Vehicle Act.
If you charge more, you can lodge a complaint with proof on the email id MVD Complain.enff2atgmail.com, the Nagpur city office of the regional transport officer said.
