Nagpur, Dec 12: The High Court has directed the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to take measures to end the traffic jam due to increasing number of vehicles. Accordingly, a parking policy has been prepared and an advisor to the Urban Mass Transit System (UMTC) has been appointed to manage the parking on the main road. According to this, it is estimated that Rs 5.5 crore will be earned daily from parking.
Accordingly, instructions have been given in the general body meeting to provide information about fixed parking spaces and policy in each zone. The zonal review was started as per the directions of the General Assembly. On Monday (July 12), a presentation was made by UMTC in Laxminagar zone and Dharampeth zone.
May The main road has been surveyed by UMTC and parking spaces have been identified. It includes a total of 56 roads with 2,874 seats for four-wheelers and 13,610 seats for two-wheelers. According to the survey, 90% of the vehicles are parked for less than two hours. Also, as per the approved rate of Nagpur Municipal Corporation, an estimated income of 5.58 lakh per day is expected. A total of 15,612 four-wheelers and 75,741 two-wheelers are expected to be parked daily on 56 roads in the city. D.P.R.
