Corporation will earn Rs 300 crore from map approval
Nagpur, Dec 27: New housing projects were stalled due to corona last year. The current year has gained momentum. The town planning department earned Rs 100 crore from the approval of maps till August. By the end of March, the revenue will go up to Rs 300 crore.
Last year, only Rs 56 crore was received by the town planning department from map approval. 100 crore in August this year.
This year the economic situation of the citizens is improving, new housing projects are coming into existence. A large number of maps are being received by NCP for approval. Considering the amount received last year, the Standing Committee had set a target of only Rs 86 crore in the budget this year. This target has been achieved in the month of August and so far NMC has received Rs 100 crore.
Standing Committee Chairman Prakash Bhoyar directed the Town Planning Department to work towards getting another Rs 219 crore by March 2022.
Chairman Prakash Bhoyar is holding a meeting of various departments to increase the income of the corporation. According to the information given by the officials of the town planning department, in April this year, 8. 45 crore, 16.41 crore in May, 26.8 crore in old and 26 crore in July. Municipal Corporation has also received Rs. 21 crore from Gunthewari. In the year 2019-2020, the department had received Rs 193 crore. In the year 2020-21, Corona received only Rs 56 crore. The Speaker has set a new target of Rs 319 crore for them in 2021-2022. Out of this, Rs. 100 crore has been received by the department. Rs 219 crore is expected in the next seven months. The Speaker directed the department to approve the pending maps as soon as possible. The head of the department said that the approval of the map is being delayed due to online. He also suggested that a solution should be worked out to speed up the process of approval of maps and increase the income of the corporation.
Deputy Engineer, Junior Engineer, Civil Engineering Assistant of Town Planning Department of all the ten zones along with Town Planner Hershal Gedam were present on the occasion.
