 Sandeep Joshi, architect of Dhruv Consultancy, said that all sides of the lake will be beautified. There will be tracks, toilets, drinking water etc. for walking. Attractive fountains will be installed in the middle of the lake. A large building will be constructed near Bal Bhavan for amusement. A bridge will be built to reach Bhauji Page Park in the middle of the lake. The silt in the pond will also be removed. He also said that a wastewater treatment plant would be set up to control the effluent.
Gandhisagar Lake is a heritage lake. The development of this lake will be done in the same manner by preserving the antiquities. A provision of Rs. 12 crore has been made by the Government of Maharashtra and Rs. 2.90 crore has been made by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation for development work. After this development work, the historic lake will be preserved and due to beautification, a large number of tourists will also turn to Gandhisagar Lake, said Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari.
