Government will give 50 thousand rupees to farmers
Mumbai, d.24- There is good news for the farmers who regularly steal loans. The Maharashtra government on Friday announced that it will provide a financial incentive of Rs 50,000 to every farmer who makes regular loan repayments. That is, the farmers who have been repaying their loans on time are going to get this benefit.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said in the state assembly on Friday that the government is committed to providing financial assistance under the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule loan scheme. Pawar was replying to a question by Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Abitkar.
Why the delay and when will help
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar admitted that there was a delay in providing such assistance due to the financial situation being hit after the Corona pandemic. He said that the induced lockdown due to Corona has resulted in a revenue shortfall of Rs 1.5 lakh crore in the state. Those farmers who are repaying the loan regularly, they will be provided assistance after the financial condition returns to normal.
Earlier, the Maharashtra government told the assembly on Friday that it was committed to bring the farmers of the state also under the ambit of the loan waiver scheme. Replying to the discussion on the issue during the Question Hour, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that 31.81 lakh farmers are eligible under the state government's Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Krishi Karjmafi Yojana and Rs 20,290 crore has been given so far.
