The Guardian Minister Dr. Nitin Raut directed the Regional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Siddharth Gaikwad to send a proposal to the Social Welfare Department to purchase the premises of Nagpur Sudhar Pranyas Gharkul Yojana for the backward class student dormitory at Vathoda. He approved the proposal in principle.
He visited and inspected the slums at Vathoda today. Superintendent Engineer Lina Upadhye and Regional Deputy Commissioner for Social Welfare Dr. Siddharth Gaikwad were present on the occasion.
 There are a total of 25 hostels functioning in the district. Out of which 16 are in rented buildings. Out of these 16, 7 are for boys and 9 are for girls. Gaikwad informed that the cost of Swadhar Yojana for children and rented buildings is 8.49 crore per annum.
The same cost for a girl is Rs 7.51 crore per annum. The rent may increase depending on the number of potential students in the future. .
Lina Upadhyay informed that this well-equipped building of 448 rooms can accommodate 2352 children.
Solar energy is used. The Guardian Minister said that this building with separate sewerage treatment and electrical substation is suitable for backward class students. He suggested to send the proposal for purchase of this building to the government soon.
