
Opportunity for youth to work with District Collectors, 'Chief Minister Fellowship Program' announced
CM Fellowship Program 2025-26: Candidates applying for the fellowship will have to apply online and pay the online examination fee. Also, it is mandatory to have Aadhaar card or other identity card while applying online.

The administration should utilize the creativity and ability to present different ideas, enthusiasm, and interest in technology among the youth and through this, to bring dynamism in administrative processes, the "Chief Minister Fellowship Program" 2025-26 has been announced as a concept of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Accordingly, 60 fellows will be selected in this program.
The criteria for the selection of fellows, the terms and conditions for appointment, as well as the government decision regarding the outline and implementation of the educational program to be implemented through educational institutions have been made available on the Maharashtra Government website. This program was started and successfully implemented during the first Chief Ministerial term of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. After the successful implementation of the program for the period 2023-24, now this program has been announced for 2025-26.
Application Requirements
Criteria for selection of fellows: Applicant should be a citizen of India.
Educational Qualification: Graduate in any discipline (minimum 60% marks required).
Experience: At least 1 year of full-time work experience will be required. Also, for students of professional courses, 1 year of full-time internship / apprenticeship / articleship as part of their course will be required. Full-time self-employment, self-entrepreneurship experience will also be considered. The applicant will have to submit a self-declaration to that effect.
Language and Computer Knowledge: Ability to write, read and speak Marathi language will be required. Adequate knowledge of Hindi and English will be required. Also, knowledge of computer handling and internet will be required.
Age Limit: The candidate should be at least 21 years and not more than 26 years as on the last date of submission of application.
The candidate should apply through the online application system provided by the Directorate of Finance and Statistics.
How much is the application fee?
The application fee will be Rs. 500. The number of fellows in this program has been fixed at 60. Out of which, the number of female fellows will be 1/3 of the total number of fellows. If 1/3 female fellows are not available, male fellows will be selected instead. The status of the fellows will be equivalent to Group-A officers in the government service.
What will be the selection process?

Around 210 candidates who have secured the highest marks in the objective test will have to submit an essay on one of the given topics online on the given date and time. The 210 candidates who have secured the highest marks in the objective test will be interviewed in Mumbai.
From among the selected fellows, a group of two to three fellows will be appointed in each of the 20 selected districts as per the requirement. One fellow from this group will work under the concerned District Collector and one to two fellows will work under the Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad. The appointment of the fellows will be for a period of 12 months. This will not be extended. Also, the appointment of the fellow will automatically terminate after 12 months from the date of joining.
The selected fellows under this program will be given a monthly stipend of Rs. 56,100 and a travel allowance of Rs. 5400, totaling Rs. 61,500. The academic program will be an integral part of the fellowship. An independent Postgraduate Certificate course in Public Policy will be organized for the selected fellows in collaboration with IIT, Mumbai.
Offline and online lectures will be organized on various topics that will be useful to the fellows while working at the assigned location under this program. Offline lectures will be organized at IIT, Mumbai for two weeks at the beginning of the fellowship, after six months and for one week each at the end. In addition, online lectures will be organized on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays throughout the year as per the needs of the program. Attendance at all offline and online lectures is mandatory for the fellows. The objective of this program is to equip the fellows with the right tools while working for the public interest and in policy making.
