Momentum for ST Depot Redevelopment via PPP; Chief Minister Directs Preparation of Separate Plans for Each Depot

Mumbai: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed that systematic action be taken to boost the revenue of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (ST) and make it financially self-reliant through the redevelopment of its depots.
He instructed that a separate development plan be prepared for each depot, taking into account its specific capacity. Furthermore, he directed that necessary policy proposals to accelerate the redevelopment process through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) be submitted to the Cabinet at the earliest.
A meeting of the Transport Department was held today at the Chief Minister's official residence, 'Varsha', under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik, Minister of State for Transport Madhuri Misal, Additional Chief Secretary (Transport) Sanjay Sethi, and other senior officials were present. The meeting underscored the resolve to strengthen the ST Corporation through the redevelopment of its depots. It is expected that this initiative will help improve the Corporation's financial health and provide better facilities to passengers.
