Nagpur, Dec 18: There are 14 lakh two-wheelers and 18 lakh four-wheelers registered in the capital. Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari directed to provide parking facility to the vehicle owners in the designated parking area for a nominal fee.
Kishor Daga, company director of Big V, made a presentation in the mayor's meeting room on how to make better parking arrangements at a nominal parking fee. He said that parking charges will be charged digitally from the citizens through QR code. Emphasis will be placed on providing parking facility for a nominal fee from the driver. Parking in the market and on the streets will be smoother and the Municipal Corporation will get income. The driver will have to recharge the parking fee of his vehicle every month.
The mayor instructed the company's director to submit a proposal with a financial plan within seven days. He said the entire responsibility for parking should rest with the company. After charging a monthly fee, the driver will be allowed to park at designated places in the city. This will provide affordable parking facilities to the citizens of Nagpur city and action will be taken by the Municipal Corporation and Traffic Police against those who park illegally. Cashless parking will promote digital driving. If you park for more than three hours, you will have to pay more.
