Petrol, Diesel, and Domestic LPG Prices Will Not Rise – Central Government Announces

Pune/New Delhi: Amid fears of a global fuel crisis triggered by the conflict between the US and Iran, the Government of India has provided significant relief to the common people. The prices of petrol, diesel, and domestic gas (LPG) cylinders are set to remain stable. It has been clarified that there will be no increase in these rates.
Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary to the Central Government, shared this information during an inter-ministerial meeting. She stated that a price hike has been implemented solely for commercial LPG; this will have absolutely no impact on the domestic gas cylinders used by ordinary citizens.
**Situation in the International Market**
On April 30, the price of Brent Crude reached $126 per barrel.
Tensions in the 'Strait of Hormuz' had significantly impacted the global oil supply.
However, crude oil prices have witnessed a sharp decline as possibilities of a peace agreement between the US and Iran are being anticipated. On Wednesday, Brent Crude rates dropped by 9 percent, falling to $99.79 per barrel.
Against this backdrop, the Modi government's decision to keep fuel prices stable will prove to be of great benefit to the common citizens. Even amidst a global crisis, the government has successfully averted placing an additional financial burden on the public.
