Protecting the rights of workers working in the unorganized sector is the responsibility of all of us - Labor Minister Hasan Mushrif

Mumbai: Workers are playing an important role in the development of the state. Therefore, it is the responsibility of all of us to protect the rights of workers in the organized and unorganized sector in the state, said Labor Minister Hasan Mushrif.

 
He was speaking at the unveiling of an emblem by Labor Minister Hassan Mushrif at the Labor Commissionerate on the occasion of the centenary of the establishment of the Labor Commissionerate. Vinita Ved-Singhal, Principal Secretary, Labor Department, Dr. Mahendra Kalyankar, Labor Commissioner, Shirin Lokhande, Labor Commissioner along with officers and staff of Labor Commissionerate were present on the occasion.
Labor Minister Mushrif said a number of laws were enacted for the rights of workers during the British rule. The importance of workers has been underlined in the constitution of the country. Priority will be given to safeguarding the interests of the workers through the Labor Department in the coming period.
The Labor Commissionerate was established in 1921. This year is his centenary year. On this occasion, a logo has been prepared by the Labor Commissionerate and we are happy about it. On this occasion, 7 children who had decided to quit their jobs and complete their education once again were felicitated by Labor Minister Mushrif.
