Revanth Reddy Launches Scathing Attack on G. Kishan Reddy for Stalling Hyderabad Metro Expansion; 50 Trips Made to Delhi
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Levels Serious Allegations Against G. Kishan Reddy
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has leveled serious allegations against Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy, accusing him of obstructing various development projects, including the Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion. Revanth Reddy made these remarks while addressing a public meeting following the groundbreaking ceremony for development projects worth ?1,511 crore in Uppal.
Revanth Reddy stated, "G. Kishan Reddy works as a BJP leader during the day, but at night, he safeguards the interests of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) and his party." He further claimed that Kishan Reddy played a role in scuttling a scheduled meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Key Points:
Blow to Metro Expansion: Revanth Reddy noted that he had visited Delhi approximately 50 times over the past two and a half years—including a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi—to push for this project, yet approval from the Centre remains pending.
Blocked Meeting with Devendra Fadnavis: He alleged that he had attempted to meet the Maharashtra CM to discuss the Tummidihatti Barrage project, but Kishan Reddy intervened to prevent the meeting with Fadnavis.
Other Projects: He demanded Central approval and funding for the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and the Musi River rejuvenation project. Regarding the Musi Riverfront project, he cited examples of riverfront developments along the Sabarmati, Ganga, and Yamuna rivers.
Appeal for Farmers: He urged the Central Government to procure the remaining 25 lakh metric tonnes of paddy and maize, noting that the state government has already procured 70 lakh metric tonnes of grain. Revanth Reddy issued a clear warning that if Kishan Reddy secures approvals and funds for Telangana's development projects, he will be honored; otherwise, the people will teach him a lesson.
