Terrorism game against doctors; Jaish-e-Mohammed's international cut exposed
New Delhi/Jammu/Faridabad – The country's security agencies have exposed a big interstate and international terrorist module. The security forces of Jammu and Kashmir including Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and other states conducted a joint operation targeting Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar-Ghazwatul-Hind (AGH) or Pakistan-inspired terrorist organizations or modules. So far, eight prominent terrorists have been arrested along with two doctors and a total of 2900 kg of explosives have been seized. The same action started in Gujarat on Sunday and then Purnatwala Neely went ahead with strong action in Faridabad.
The main facilitators of the module include Dr. Muzammil Ghani from Kashmir and Dr. Shaheen from Lucknow. Dr. Muzammil Ghani is working as a professor at Al-Fala University in Haryana. Because of the posters against security forces in support of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar, Lavlya would have absconded in a serious case. According to the security agencies, this doctor was active in covert operations like collecting funds for terrorist organizations, preparing murderers and recruiting new members. Those running around them or the network would have created a conspiracy to terrorize various people in the country.
In Gujarat, the joint forces of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted a raid on Sunday morning. Three terrorists were arrested, one of whom was a doctor. After this, in Faridabad, Haryana, NIA and local police team arrested five people including two doctors. Among the arrested doctors, Dr. Muzammil Ghani has been revealed to have links with Jaish-e-Mohammed. The source informed that he was using his position in the university to attract youth towards terrorist ideology. Dr. Shaheen is working in a hospital in Lucknow and is providing medical aid and logistics support to Ansar-Gajwatul-Hind.
The 2900 kg explosives seized include ammonium nitrate, gelatin sticks and other deadly chemicals. These explosives would have been stored in the warehouses of Gujarat and Haryana. According to security agencies, these explosives would have been used to carry out terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir including Delhi, Mumbai and other metropolitan cities. The primary investigation shows that the international connections of the module have reached Pakistan and Dubai and the funds are being transferred through hawala.
NIA officials said, "This module works very efficiently. By using well-educated people like doctors, they can blend in with the common people. We are checking their mobiles, laptops and bank accounts. There is a possibility of some more snags." Special squads of Jammu and Kashmir Police have conducted raids in Srinagar and Anantnag areas, where Jaish-e-Mohammed supporters have been detained for questioning.
Due to this action, the vigilance of anti-terrorism agencies in the country has once again been underlined. In the last few months, when Jaish-e-Mohammed has been increasing its activities in Kashmir, these modules have been trying to infiltrate into the mainland. The Central Home Ministry or the campaign has been alerted and has ordered all the states to remain alert.
Security experts have expressed concern over the involvement of well-educated professionals in the new form of terrorism. "People like doctors, engineers or professors become a means of brainwashing and funding for terrorist organisations. Special care is required in the educational institutions and medical sector to prevent this," a senior security analyst expressed.
Currently investigation is going on, NIA has sought extension of time in court. How many more people are involved in this case and what is their connection with Pakistan, it will soon become clear. The security agencies have appealed to the countrymen to remain alert. This action itself is considered a major success in the fight against terrorism.
