The country's first LNG bus running on natural gas was built in Nagpur

Nagpur: The country's first LNG bus running on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) has been built in Nagpur under the Pollution Free India campaign. Bio-LNG plants will soon be set up at Masal in Bhandara district, and LNG stations will be set up at Nagpur and Raipur to boost LNG availability in Central India.

Originally, the Mahindra bus was running on diesel. But the diesel-powered bus has been converted to LNG-powered bus by Go Bus. It has cost about eleven lakh rupees. The company claims that buses running on LNG instead of diesel will reduce fuel costs many times over. The bus is currently the center of attraction at the Agro Vision Agricultural Exhibition in Nagpur.
In particular, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Manas Agro and Lifinity Bio-Energy for this agricultural exhibition, under which bio-LNG plants will be set up at Masal in Bhandara district. With the construction of LNG stations at Nagpur in Maharashtra and Raipur in Chhattisgarh, the availability of LNG fuel in Central India will now increase exponentially. Therefore, in the future, the operation of trucks and buses on bio-fuels like LNG instead of diesel in Vidarbha will help in reducing pollution by saving fuel.
