The government has announced to increase the number of new medical seats to 75 thousand in the next five years. To become MBBS doctors across the country, 12 to 13 lakh students take the NEET UG exam. Out of this, only 56 thousand students are from government medical colleges. Most of these students have to enter private colleges. Most of the students have to take admission in private colleges. Therefore, they have to pay a large capitation fee to get admission. For such students, ten thousand new seats have been increased in this year's budget- 2025. The government will increase the number of these medical seats to 75,000 in the next five years.
