The dream of becoming a doctor will come true, MBBS seats will increase

Budget update:-Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the central budget. In this budget, provision has been made to increase medical seats. Due to this, the dream of those who want to become doctors after taking medical education will come true. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced to increase ten thousand new seats for medical courses in the budget for the year 2025-26. The government has announced to increase the number of new medical seats to 75 thousand in the next five years. This decision of the government will increase the number of doctors in the medical field and make it possible for citizens to get proper medical facilities.
MBBS doctors across the country
To become MBBS doctors across the country, 12 to 13 lakh students take the NEET UG exam. Out of this, only 56 thousand students are from government medical colleges. Most of these students have to enter private colleges. Most of the students have to take admission in private colleges. Therefore, they have to pay a large capitation fee to get admission. For such students, ten thousand new seats have been increased in this year's budget- 2025. The government will increase the number of these medical seats to 75,000 in the next five years.
In the Budget speech of 2025, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced 10,000 new seats in medical colleges and hospitals. The government has decided to increase MBBS seats in tier-2 cities to provide better facilities to the health sector.
Medical colleges and medical seats have been increasing rapidly in the last ten years. After completing 100 days of the central government this year, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda said that the central government has approved the opening of 60 new medical colleges in 2023-24. At the same time, a total of 766 medical colleges are currently operating in the country. There has been an 8.07 percent increase in medical colleges. That is, the number of medical colleges and seats has doubled in the last ten years.
