'3 years imprisonment for forced conversion...' Conversion bill to be presented in Rajasthan Assembly today
Jaipur: The proceedings of the budget session of Rajasthan Assembly will resume today. The third session of the 16th Assembly has started from January 31. The proceedings of the Assembly will begin with the Question Hour at 11 am. This time the session of Rajasthan Assembly can be very tumultuous. Bhajanlal government is preparing to bring a new conversion bill in the assembly. The anti-conversion religious bill i.e. 'The Rajasthan Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion 2024' will be presented in the House. The bill will prohibit conversion by force or by giving temptation.
'Love Jihad', provision of strict punishment for conversion
16 years ago also in the year 2008, during the Vasundhara Raje government, the conversion bill was introduced. But the bill could not be implemented due to being stuck in the Center. Under this new bill, if a person converts religion and marries, then the court can declare it invalid. Apart from this, even if the conversion is done with consent, the collector will have to be informed 60 days in advance.
