Three Hectares of Land for NDRF at Sadumbre near Pune
Mumbai, 21st – The State Cabinet, in its meeting today, approved the allocation of three hectares of land to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) at Sadumbre (Taluka Maval) in Pune district.
Approval had previously been granted to allocate three hectares of grazing land (*gayran*) at Sadumbre to the NDRF at market rates. However, the organization had requested that the land be provided free of cost, citing public interest and national importance. A permanent NDRF base will be established on this land, where response teams will be stationed to tackle various types of disasters and undergo specialized disaster management training. This will facilitate effective emergency response measures within the state. In recognition of its status as the country's only dedicated civil force for this purpose, the NDRF will be granted the land free of cost under the 'Occupant Class-II' tenure.
