Zero Mile Station will be called Zero Mile Freedom Park - Approval to keep historic guns
Nagpur 19th:The metro station at Zero Mile will be renamed "Zero Mile Freedom Park Station". In this connection, the historical guns found by the committee while carrying out development works at Kasturchand Park Ground will be kept at Zero Mile Freedom Park Station. The proposal of Mahametro Nagpur was approved in the meeting of Nagpur Heritage Conservation Committee.
Held in the Collector's office. In the meeting, structural engineer PS Patankar, professor of history department of Nagpur University Dr. Shubha Johri, Architect Ashok Mokha, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Milind Meshram and Assistant Director Town Planning Hershal Gedam were present.
Mahametro has revised the construction plan for the construction of spectator dirge and tunnel near Futala lake and now it is proposed to construct spectator dirge in the road space without constructing an underground tunnel. The committee also approved the development work of musical fountain, light and sound show at Futala.
The building containing the Kotwali Police Station and the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police Circle-3 at Mahal is a Heritage Grade-1 site. As the building is more than 100 years old, Public Works Department No. 1 Nagpur has given the building a VNIT. VNIT conducted a structural audit by a government organization in Nagpur. According to a report by Nagpur, the building is not safe to use for more than 3 to 4 years. Therefore, the Executive Engineer, Public Works Department No. 1, Nagpur has informed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters), Office of the Commissioner of Police, Nagpur, to arrange separate space for the office of Kotwali Police Station and Deputy Commissioner of Police Circle-3 and funds for construction.
