affected by floods and landslides
People will get new government houses
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's announcement in the assembly
Financial assistance will be given to people affected by rains and floods.
The 'honorarium' of agricultural laborers has been increased from 6 thousand to 16 thousand
Mumbai Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday said a plot has been identified for rehabilitation of flood and landslide survivors in Irshalwadi village, where CIDCO will construct permanent houses for them. Shinde also announced more financial assistance for those affected by the rains and floods.
At least 27 people were killed and 57 others are missing in the July 19 landslide in Irshalwadi village of Raigad district.
Shinde told the Maharashtra Assembly that the flood and landslide survivors are currently kept in 'containers' and the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) will build permanent homes for them.
In an apparent attack on Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray, Shinde said, "Some people reached Irshalwadi in vanity vans to meet the survivors, while people like me walked in the mud." We are the people who work on the land, not from home.
10 thousand rupees financial assistance
The Chief Minister said that his government worked for the welfare of the people and did not show arrogance while seeking funds from the Center for the development of the State. He announced that the state government would provide financial assistance of Rs 10,000 instead of Rs 5,000 to each family affected by heavy rains and floods, while Rs 50,000 would be given to small shopkeepers and Rs 10,000 to tapriwalas (roadside vendors).
The 'honorarium' of agricultural laborers has been increased to Rs 16,000.
Shinde said that people affected by natural calamities would be given financial assistance from June to October 2023. He informed that the 'honorarium' of agricultural laborers has been increased from Rs.6,000 to Rs.16,000.
The Chief Minister said that Rs 50,000 each has been given to 14.5 lakh farmers who have cleared their dues on time and another 50,000 farmers will also be given this amount. He informed that the Maharashtra government is providing crop insurance to the farmers at Re 1.
