SNagpur, dt. 2: An order was issued in 2018 to give permanent leases to slum dwellers with encroachments before 2011. Accelerate the work of giving leases to the remaining slum dwellers as per that government order. Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis directed to remove technical and other problems.
In this regard, he held a meeting on Monday, August 2 in the Commissioner's Hall in the new administrative building of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj of Nagpur Municipal Corporation. Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis along with Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari, Commissioner Radhakrishnan B., Deputy Collector, Land Records Department officials were present at the meeting.
Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis took information from the Municipal Commissioner about the current situation regarding allotment. He gave full information about the number of notified slums in Nagpur city, how many slum dwellers have been given permanent leases, how many have completed the paperwork. The total number of slums in Nagpur Municipal Corporation area is 426, there are 229 notified slums and 127 non-notified slums. According to the commissioner, there are 16 slums on Nagpur Municipal Corporation land, 67 on Nagpur Sudhar Pranyas land, 70 on government land, 11 on railway land, 54 on private land and 84 on mixed land. However, he said that there were difficulties in allocating permanent leases due to non-fulfillment of documents by many.
Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis instructed the people's representatives and corporators to take help in this work. Corporators also communicate directly with the slum dwellers in their area and immediately remove the problems they face. He also instructed the corporators to coordinate with the authorities and complete the documents in the next few days.
He also directed to prepare a proposal and send it to the government if there is any problem regarding the land on the scrub forest. He also said that the citizens should be informed about the documents required for the mutation of the allotment.
