**Guidelines to Curb Nylon Manja** **
Nagpur, 29th:** The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court has directed the formulation of comprehensive guidelines to permanently curb the sale, storage, transportation, and use of nylon *manja* (kite-flying string) in the Nagpur and Amravati divisions. Accordingly, instructions have been issued to the District Collector's office, the Police Commissioner's office, and the Municipal Corporation to draft these regulations.
The Court had previously issued orders on January 12, 2026, regarding penalties to ensure the cessation of nylon *manja* usage. Under these provisions, any person found flying a kite with nylon *manja* will be fined ?25,000. If the kite flyer is a minor, the fine will be recovered directly from their parents. Sellers found in possession of a stock of nylon *manja* will face a fine of ?2,50,000. Additional District Magistrate Anup Khande has urged everyone to take note that this fine will be levied separately for each instance of violation.
