Kolkata: Against the backdrop of the West Bengal Assembly elections, the BJP released its manifesto on Friday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled this manifesto. It features key announcements such as monthly financial assistance of ?3,000 for women and unemployed youth, the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission for state government employees within 45 days of assuming power, and a strict policy against illegal infiltration.
Amit Shah stated, “The Trinamool Congress’s 15-year rule has brought a nightmare upon Bengal. This BJP manifesto serves as a roadmap for creating a ‘Sonar Bangla’ (Golden Bengal). Farmers, youth, women, and every citizen who takes pride in Bengal’s culture will find new hope in this document.”
Key Pledges in the Manifesto:
For Women: ?3,000 will be deposited into every woman's bank account between the 1st and 5th of every month. Provision for free travel for women on government buses.
For Unemployed Youth: Monthly assistance of ?3,000 for every unemployed youth. An additional ?15,000 for students preparing for competitive examinations.
Government Employees: Implementation of the 7th Pay Commission within 45 days of coming to power. Guarantee to provide Dearness Allowance (DA) on par with the Central Government.
Illegal Infiltration: A ‘Detect, Delete, and Deport’ policy. Identifying infiltrators, taking action against them, and expelling them from the country. Securing borders and putting an end to cattle smuggling.
Other Important Announcements:

Establishment of AIIMS, IITs, and Fashion Design Institutes. A committee of retired judges to investigate political violence.
Responding to the BJP's manifesto, Mamata Banerjee stated that the BJP lacks faith in local voters, which is why people are being brought in from outside. However, the BJP asserted that all these promises have been made for the development of Bengal.
