BJP's strong response to Sam Pitroda's anti-India statement: 'False agenda that defames India'

New Delhi, February 22, 2026: A controversial statement by Indian Overseas Congress chief Sam Pitroda has heated up the political atmosphere. Pitroda has said that India has only produced 'raw talent', which is used to serve other countries, and that it is a shame that India does not have its own operating system. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticized this statement and accused Pitroda of defaming India.
Sam Pitroda said in a YouTube interview that India has developed a large number of youth skills, but they are in raw form. Multinational companies around the world use this talent in the fields of programming, banking, legal systems, industry, manufacturing and logistics. India did not create its own products, but used its skills only to serve others. We have not built our own social media platform, we have not developed a big company like Microsoft and we do not have our own operating system. It is a shame that a country with a population of 1.5 billion does not have its own operating system.
BJP national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla reacted strongly on social media to this statement. He said that Congress's overseas advisor Sam Pitroda has once again lied and mocked India. His agenda has always been to defame India. Poonawalla announced a list of operating systems developed in India, which include BOSS Linux, Maya OS, PrimeOS, BharOS, Indus OS and NxtQuantum OS. He said, 'The claim that India does not have its own operating system is completely wrong and misleading.'
BJP responded to Congress on this occasion by mentioning India's achievements. Citing digital payment systems like UPI, self-reliance in Covid vaccination and recent economic progress, he said that India has not only provided services, but has also proven global leadership in technology, health and the digital economy. This incident has sparked a fresh controversy between the BJP and the Congress, and there has been no official explanation from the Congress on Pitroda's statement yet.
