Sunday, February 22, 2026:-A shocking incident in Gurdaspur district of Punjab has shaken the entire region. Two personnel posted at a police post were shot dead at around 1 am in Adia village, which falls under the Dorangla police station limits in the border area. Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Gurnam Singh of Punjab Police and Home Guard Ashok Kumar are involved in this incident. The attackers have not been identified yet, but the police have started a thorough investigation into the matter.
According to sources, the service weapons of both the deceased personnel have been recovered from the scene. The investigation team is examining the mobile phones of the deceased, which is likely to yield important evidence. The bodies of both have been sent to the Civil Hospital in Gurdaspur for autopsy.
