Blast on railway tracks in Balochistan; Jafar Express hit

Jacobabad: A powerful blast on the railway track near Jacobabad in Pakistan's Balochistan province derailed four coaches of the Jafar Express train. The incident left a three-foot-wide crater on the railway track, and some passengers suffered minor injuries, according to preliminary information. The train was en route from Quetta to Peshawar. The local administration has launched a rescue operation and an investigation into the cause of the blast is underway. The increasing instability in Balochistan has put rail travel in the region at risk. Earlier, in March 2025, the Baloch Liberation Army attacked this train, raising questions about the security situation.
