By Prajakta Lavangare Accepted the post of Divisional Commissioner
Nagpur, dt. 23: The response received through the revenue system is important to solve the problems of the people by giving priority to them. For this, follow the time limit of development works, such instructions were given by the new divisional commissioner Prajakta Lavangare-Verma today.
After taking over as the Divisional Commissioner of Nagpur today, a meeting of senior officers of the Commissionerate was held. She was speaking while interacting with officials.
The revenue department is the face of the government. Explaining that the officers and staff should give priority to giving more people-oriented and effective administration to the people through daily work, Ms. Verma said that the Nagpur division had done a very good job of planning during the Corona period. This helped to reduce the incidence of corona. The department needs to work in a similar manner during natural disasters. He also directed the authorities to give priority to resolving the tasks within the stipulated time frame.
He said that the Divisional Commissionerate should not be in the role of a controlling officer and all the officers and staff should voluntarily take initiative to complement the district level system and work more on the response from the last unit without relying on the report from the district alone.
After accepting the post, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed various departments of the office. Mrs. Verma inquired about the problems encountered in the day-to-day work, pending issues and the action being taken by the department head to resolve them. While working as the Secretary of Marathi Language Department, Mrs. Verma was appointed by the Government as the Divisional Commissioner of Nagpur Division. She is the first woman commissioner of Nagpur division. This afternoon, he accepted the new post from District Collector Ravindra Thackeray.
