Congress Lashes Out at Parth Pawar: "A 'Ungrateful Son'—who stumbles even while delivering speeches and became an MP solely on the strength of his family's blessings—has no business speaking about us."
Pune/Baramati: The Maharashtra Congress has issued a scathing retort to newly elected MP Parth Pawar after he remarked that the Congress party is facing a "downfall" in Maharashtra.
Parth Pawar had stated, "I simply feel bad that the Congress is witnessing a downfall in Maharashtra." Reacting to this statement, the Congress party remarked, "Is it not a bit presumptuous for a young man—who struggles to deliver even a coherent speech and has just become an MP riding on the past merits of his family—to speak about the Congress party's downfall?"
Escalating its caustic criticism, the Congress went on to label Parth Pawar an "ungrateful son." The party asserted, "It would be far better if this ungrateful son—who chose to remain silent as a matter of political expediency to evade an inquiry into a land scam immediately following the suspicious accidental death of his own father, and who subsequently surrendered before a 'superpower'—refrains from speaking about the Congress party altogether."
The Congress further pointed out that the Karnataka government (where the Congress is currently in power) has registered an FIR in an effort to secure justice for Parth Pawar's father. The official Congress candidate in the Baramati Assembly by-election is currently demanding that a formal case regarding that suspicious accident be registered within Maharashtra itself. The Congress criticized Parth Pawar, suggesting that this is a matter upon which he ought to be speaking as well.
This entire episode appears to be linked to Parth Pawar's stance regarding the Baramati Assembly by-election. By dismissing Parth Pawar's remarks as "going too far," the Maharashtra Congress has cast serious doubts upon both his oratorical skills and his reliance on his family's political legacy.
