Excellent Response to Cancer Screening Camp - Health Check-ups for Over 60 Journalists -

Nagpur, Oct 10 (Correspondent) – The number of cancer patients in the country is rising significantly. We must all make concerted efforts to curb this alarming growth. To this end, the District Administration stands in full support of your efforts; this assurance was given to journalists today by Nagpur District Collector Kumar Ashirwad during a diagnostic health camp.
He was speaking on the occasion of a health camp organized today by the Press Club, Nagpur, specifically for journalists and their families. He further stated that he would take the initiative to organize a large-scale health camp for journalists in the near future, in collaboration with Nagpur's renowned hospitals.
The initiative, organized by the Nagpur Press Club under the tagline "Cancer Se Jang Jeetenge Hum, Patrakaron Ke Sang" (We Will Win the War Against Cancer, Together with Journalists), received an excellent response. Approximately 60 journalists participated in the camp and underwent various diagnostic tests. Additionally, several journalists donated blood during the event. Health check-ups at the camp were conducted by expert medical professionals. Screenings were performed for oral cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, and other respiratory-related cancers. Furthermore, dental, eye, bone density, and gynecological examinations were conducted. The primary objective of this camp was to raise public awareness regarding cancer. Journalists and their family members availed themselves of the benefits offered by the camp. Dignitaries present on the occasion included District Collector Kumar Ashirwad, Press Club President Pradeepkumar Maitra, and President of the Nagpur Working Journalists Association, Brahmashankar Tripathi. They were joined by camp organizer Abdul Gafoor Pasha; Shakir Raza Khan of the Cancer Care Foundation; Dr. Prashant Dhoke; Bhupendra Ganvir; Mahesh Updev; Vivek Puradbhat; Chandrakant Shende; Ranjit Deshmukh; Shamkant Patrikar; Mangesh Vyavhare; Jitendra Dhawale (of *Lokmat*); and numerous other journalists.
