Fake Currency Racket: Ahilyanagar police busted a fake currency printing factory in the Waluj MIDC area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Fake currency notes worth Rs 59.20 lakhs, machinery, ink, paper and other materials worth Rs 27.90 lakhs were seized. 7 people were arrested in this case. The police suspect that ink and paper were purchased from Bhopal for printing the notes.

According to the information that has come to light, on July 27, 2025, two people were traveling in a luxury car on the Ahilyanagar-Solapur road, and they were in possession of fake currency notes of Rs 500. The police had received information that they had bought a packet of cigarettes by paying Rs 500 from a paper shop in Ambilwadi Shivara. From that, the police had arrested Nikhil Gangarde and Somnath Shinde, and 80,000 fake five hundred rupee notes were seized from them. After that, everything was broken. Due to this, it became expensive for the accused to buy cigarettes by giving 500 rupee notes.
