Immediate Government Assistance for Every Affected Family in Dhamangaon - Chandrashekhar Bawankule
- ?2.5 Lakhs for Every Affected Family through the Mining Corporation
Nagpur, May 3: The homes of numerous families suffered extensive damage in a massive fire that broke out late yesterday evening in Dhamangaon, located in the Bhiwapur taluka. Today, I personally visited the site, listened to the grievances of each affected family, and conducted a firsthand inspection of the burnt houses. State Revenue Minister and Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced that every affected family would receive ?2.5 lakhs through the Mining Corporation, assistance of ?23,000 from the State Government, and an additional ?20 lakhs—along with essential household utensils—from the Koradi Shri Mahalaxmi Jagdamba Temple Trust.
Earlier this afternoon, he paid an urgent visit to the village, accompanied by Minister of State for Finance and Planning Adv. Ashish Jaiswal, local MLA Dr. Sanjay Meshram, Sarpanch Vaishalitai Chaudhary, former MLA Raju Parve, Sudhir Parve, Anandrao Raut, Pramod Gharade, Sub-Divisional Officer Umesh Chavan, and other senior officials. Together, they listened to the plight of the affected families and offered them words of solace and encouragement.
The fire engulfed numerous houses amidst a sudden storm that struck last night. While the police machinery will conduct a thorough investigation into the exact circumstances of the incident, it is of paramount importance that the villagers demonstrated remarkable unity and courage, ensuring that there was absolutely no loss of life. On behalf of the government, he expressed his gratitude and paid tribute to the entire village community for their exemplary bravery.
"We have also held discussions with officials to review the ongoing relief and rehabilitation operations. Various measures are currently being implemented to provide immediate relief to those affected by the tragedy," he stated. He further informed that, alongside these efforts, arrangements have been made for the distribution of food grains and essential commodities, the organization of health camps, the provision of water tankers, the supply of books and uniforms for students, and the holding of special camps to facilitate the replacement of burnt documents. The relief assistance provided will be commensurate with the extent of the damage sustained by those whose homes fell victim to the fire. Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule clarified that once the damage assessment surveys for all affected houses are completed, the government will determine and provide aid proportionate to the losses; furthermore, he announced that arrangements would be made to provide free sand for the reconstruction of their homes.
He appealed to the villagers—specifically those with spare rooms available—to temporarily rent out their homes to the affected families. He also assured the villagers that the administration would extend all necessary assistance to ensure the immediate and effective rehabilitation of all affected families.
