At the 55th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, India gave a strong response to Pakistan and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for their allegations regarding Jammu and Kashmir. India's First Secretary Anupama Singh termed Pakistan's allegations as false and misleading and said that the OIC is an organization that dances at Pakistan's behest.
In this meeting, Pakistan raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir again, but India gave a fact-based reply and slapped Pakistan and the OIC. Exercising the 'Right of Reply' in the high-level discussion, Anupama Singh said, "We reject all the allegations of Pakistan and the OIC. The OIC has become a puppet working for Pakistan's political interests. All this is hateful propaganda."

Anupama Singh clarified that the merger of Jammu and Kashmir with India is valid under the Indian Independence Act of 1947 and within the framework of international law. This fact cannot be changed. India also demanded that Pakistan give up its illegal occupation of Indian territory.
Pakistan cannot tolerate progress in Jammu and Kashmir
Anupama Singh cited the recent elections in Jammu and Kashmir, saying that there was a record turnout, which shows that the local people are rejecting Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and violence. People are now believing in development and democracy. Taking a dig at Pakistan, she said, "The Chenab Railway Bridge is the world's highest railway bridge, which was inaugurated in Jammu and Kashmir last year. Or they may not be able to digest the fact that Jammu and Kashmir's state budget is double the IMF bailout package received by Pakistan."
