LPG Gas Cylinder Price: The biggest and most important news for the common man has come out. After increasing the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 2, the central government has given another big shock to the common man. The central government has also increased the price of LPG gas by Rs 50. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has announced this. The increased prices of LPG gas and petrol-diesel will be effective from 12 midnight tonight.
According to the information given by the government, the price of LPG gas cylinder is being increased by Rs 50 from Tuesday, April 8, 2025. This increase will be applicable to all consumers i.e. Ujjwala Yojana and non-Ujjwala customers. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), poor women are given free gas connections to get clean cooking fuel i.e. LPG. The benefit of this scheme is given to poor women in rural areas. Now, according to the new prices, Ujjwala Yojana and other consumers will have to pay Rs 50 more for gas cylinders.
Meanwhile, after a year, there has been a change in the price of domestic gas cylinders. The last change in the price of domestic gas cylinders was seen on March 9, 2024. After that, the government had reduced the price of gas cylinders by Rs 100. Before that, the price of domestic gas cylinders was reduced by Rs 200 on August 30, 2023. After that, the price of domestic gas cylinders came down from Rs 1103 to Rs 903.
Before that, crude oil prices have come down in the international market, due to which the government has increased the excise duty on petroleum companies like Bharat Petroleum, Reliance and Hindustan Petroleum by Rs 2 per liter. Now it remains to be seen whether the country's oil companies have increased the prices of petrol and diesel or continue to supply petrol and diesel to the people at the current rates.
