Investigation reveals RAF personnel used pellet guns during Parliament march; evidence from injured students emerges
An investigation has confirmed that RAF personnel used pellet guns against protesting students during the march to Parliament organized by the 'Cockroach Janata Party' (CJP) on July 20. According to sources, an RAF soldier fired pellet rounds; some protesters were injured when pellets ricocheted off the ground.
Several students sustained injuries during the protest in the Connaught Place area. The CRPF has initiated a detailed inquiry into the incident. While the official investigation report is pending, a preliminary probe has confirmed the use of pellet guns by the RAF.
Delhi Police and the RAF had used tear gas and lathi-charges to disperse the crowd. More than 47 RAF personnel were also injured during the operation, with some sustaining serious injuries. Four incidents of injuries caused by pellets in the Jantar Mantar area have come to light.
In this regard, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi presented an injured protester, Sahil Lohchab, at a press conference on Friday (July 24). Pellet wounds were clearly visible on his body and face. Rahul Gandhi criticized the government while lifting the protester's T-shirt to show the injuries. "The government claims that pellet guns were not fired. But look at this evidence. The government must stop lying. They have turned their guns on India's future," Rahul Gandhi stated.
Although the police and the government had maintained that pellet guns were not used during the protest, medical reports of the injured individuals are now making the facts increasingly clear. The CRPF is conducting an internal review of the RAF's actions.
